Logbook, July, Laura here.
It's hot outside, but we're already in winter here.
I've always liked thinking about long sleeves and heavy fabrics in the height of summer, it's like temporarily escaping from reality to enter the future. How will we dress? What colors and fabrics would we like to cover ourselves with?
The collection for autumn/winter 26-27 has now been decided. Some work is already underway and we are starting the production of the samples to be able to take photos as early as the end of August. It is still early to anticipate the theme of the next capsule, but we can start from the first suggestions and make some reflections on the shapes and colors that will be the most popular next season. The fun part for us is letting ourselves be captured by the trends that are closest to our DNA or, perhaps, reinterpreting those that are more distant.
Next season's trends
Let's start with the colors. Cold tones prevail, including blue, electric or midnight, but also gray and black. We also find scarlet red and bright hues, softened by neutral tones such as butter, cream and ivory. Finally, touches of matte silver.

For shapes, a return to the 2000s is confirmed, with slimmer silhouettes, low waists and short sweaters. The 80s are also back, with bright tones and wide, structured shoulders. Layered looks are very trendy, a bit "messy girl": shirts over turtlenecks, plays on lengths, zipped cardigans over skirts and dresses. Rouches and romantic draping liven up the looks, while funnel necks add a fascinating note of mystery and style to the wearer.
Milano Unica: the value of uniqueness
Last week we visited the fair Milano Unica , in which the fabric trends for the autumn/winter 27-28 season were presented. Well yes, if we seem ahead of you, know that fashion lives exactly one year ahead.
The theme that inspired this new season is “Handcraft is punk!” and we couldn't agree more.
"Today the most radical rebellion is to create something that cannot be replicated. That is, to create an artefact that refers to the wisdom of making, to the knowledge of artisanal techniques combined with the intelligent use of the most sophisticated technology.” *

In summary: uniqueness becomes an absolute value. But if fashion returns to an idea of raw materials and manual gestures, these elements have always been the basis for us. The human imprint that traces an idea on the fabric is what guides our way of imagining a collection.
In addition to the cut, the model, the color, these days I was thinking about how much I like to create a thought around each new collection. There must be a theme, which tells every single choice, which is new but also deeply connected to everything we have done to date, which tells who we are and what we want for the future of our clothes.
There is an air of holidays
July passes quickly, in August Italy stops for a while and we, along with it, will take a few days of holiday. Stopping allows you to return with a clearer mind and a refreshed body, and to look at things with a fresh look: this is what we will need to close the collection and then tell you about it. Our articles, however, don't stop, the next episode of Germogli is almost ready, so you can read it under the umbrella.
I hope you too will dedicate yourself to some healthy rest, perhaps you will take a trip. Whatever your summer plans, I wish you happy holidays.
Laura
